Advanced Dental Technology in Fairfax
Virginia Endodontics is pleased to offer the very latest in cutting edge dental equipment.
Cone Beam Computed Tomography (CBCT)
Cone Beam Computed Tomography(CBCT) is the most modern and advanced high resolution radiographic technology available today. Dr. Fein selected the Kodak 9000 3D for his office, as this top of the line model allows for unprecedented detail and clarity, while using an extremely low amount of radiation.
What makes this technology so unique?
Unmatched Resolution
Using cutting-edge technology, low-dose cone beam radiation, and industry-leading imaging software, this 3D system provides the most accurate views of your anatomy possible.
Unmatched safety
The Kodak 9000 CBCT imaging system utilizes technological advances to significantly increase the level of detailed clinical information available to oral health practitioners, while at the same time mitigating the level of patient radiation exposure.
The result: getting great images is faster and safer than ever.
Unmatched flexibility
The CBCT allows for various types of images to be recorded with multiple fields of view to allow Dr. Fein to best diagnose and treat your endodontic problem.
Unmatched software
With the most intuitive and comprehensive software you’ll find on the market, the 3D imaging software gives your endodontist an infinite number of ways to manipulate and visualize images.
This enables him to view any anatomical situation from every possible perspective, all with 1:1 anatomical accuracy—which means he will have the most precise measurements and information to plan and execute efficient treatments.
Surgical Operating Microscopes
Our modern treatment rooms are each equipped with Carl Zeiss operating microscopes. This advanced and important tool assists your endodontist by employing both high level magnification and fiber optic illumination.
The Zeiss OPMI pico makes details and fine structures clearly visible. It enables your endodontist to better visualize the regions of interest and consistently allows for high-quality examinations and treatments. Though the use of the operating microscope, Dr. Fein is able to provide the best treatment available in a short amount of time.
Digital Radiography
Crisp and accurate images are an essential part of good endodontic care. At Virginia Endodontics, we use only the best system available, made by Kodak. The RVG 6100 Digital Radiography System offers the highest image resolution in the industry with >20 lp/mm resolution per image. It generates exceptionally detailed and crystal-clear images each and every time it’s used.
Equally important to Dr. Fein and his staff is ensuring patient safety at all times. This includes selecting a system that releases only miniscule amounts of radiation. In fact, there is more radiation in your daily background environment than you will be exposed to when being treated in our office. Nothing is more important to us than your comfort and safety!
Modern Sterilization Techniques
Our entire team abides by the highest levels of infection control, as indicated by the Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA), the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the Centers for Disease Control (CDC).
We will do everything possible to provide you with the highest quality of care while maximizing your protection.
These measures include:
- Autoclave sterilization of all reusable equipment (kills viruses and bacteria by steam, heat, and pressure)
- Chemical disinfection of all countertops and surfaces
- Universal precautions with all patients. This includes the use of gloves, masks, sterile gownscoats, and eye protection
- Regular hand washing with hospital-grade antiseptic soaps and hand sanitizers
- Disposable and sharp materials are safely discarded regularly
Other cutting-edge equipment used for your care
Ultrasonics
Sophisticated ultrasonic machines are used as a miniature, but powerful and quiet, alternative to the air driven dental handpiece in very small spaces where a handpiece could not fit. These ultrasonic units, fitted with diamond-coated tips, are used to remove obstructions from the root canal, to uncover canals to expose them for cleaning, and to prepare the root-end for filling in case microsurgical intervention is indicated.
Apex Locators
Electronic monitors with liquid crystal displays are used to measure the length of the root canal and confirm the finding of additional canals. Thus, procedures can be accomplished with greater precision, with fewer x-rays, and in less time!
Negative pressure Irrigation
Antibacterial medications that are used during your treatment are delivered through a special system that ensures complete patient safety and comfort both during and after procedures.
Nickel-titanium Rotary Instruments
Traditional endodontic cleaning instruments are made of stainless steel. The newer nickel-titanium instruments are much more flexible and come in several shapes designed to allow the cleaning of the root canal to be performed in a more efficient manner with less chance of harm to the tooth. These instruments can be used manually or with silent electric drills that eliminate the unpleasant noises of the dental office.
Advanced Dental Materials
Only the most advanced materials are used, such as Mineral Trioxide Aggregate (MTA), a recently developed filling material that has been shown to be much more biocompatible than previous dental materials. It is employed as a seal during endodontic surgery and repair of damaged roots.
Electronic Records
Our offices employs the latest electronic records systems that ensure the highest levels of patient confidentiality and care. Your records are always carefully protected and all HIPAA laws are followed closely.
